Mercedes Samuels

   Mercedes is a NJ/NY singer /songwriter studying comunication and economics at Rutgers University. Mercedes has formally trained at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, (NJPAC), landed roles in NBC’s Law & Order SVU franchise, and several off Broadway productions.

 

   Mercedes has also auditioned for The Voice, American Idol, X-Factor, and in 2015, Mercedes made it to the televised second round of auditions for Kelly Rowland's girl group project, Chasing Destiny, which premiered on BET.

 

As she creatively works through her original song projects and acoutsically soulful medly covers, Mercedes describes the travel though meaning and messaging as a scope of , “… tribulations of of growing up in a broken home environment, and the liberation I feel in the discovery and practice of self -love.  I hope to inspire African American women and all women to find their way to loving themselves too.”
